Duct sealing/replacement

Here is an example of a job we did today. The homeowner reported dust coming from her vents. Upon inspection we saw that the old flex ducts and insulation were seriously deteriorating. Also the sheet metal was not sealed whatsoever. This system was just sucking dust from the attic and the cellulose insulation and blowing it around the home. We went in stripped it all down and gave the inside a thorough cleaning. We then sealed every bit of sheet metal, installed new self sealing takeoffs, insulated with new bubblewrap insulation and installed new, proper, R-8 flex ducts to all registers. In doing all this work the homeowner should see many benefits right away. The system will run more efficiently and have a longer lifespan. The biggest thing though is the air quality should improve tremendously because there's no way that system can pick up anymore of that attic dust.
